  • Postdoc Position in Structural Immunology
    Oregon Health & Science University

Dr. Liman Zhang’s lab will land in the Department of Chemical Physiology
and Biochemistry at OHSU in early 2020. We are seeking two highly motivated
    postdocs to join.

Dr. Zhang received her Ph.D. from the National Institute of Biological
Sciences, Beijing (NIBS) and did postdoc in Dr. Hao Wu’s lab at Harvard
Medical School. She has published many high impact papers in Science, Nature,
PNAS, Genes & Development and other journals. She is also supported by the
highly competitive K99/R00 grant from NIH.

The Zhang lab strives to address the molecular basis of the immunological
events that are triggered by pathogen infection and cancer development. We’
ll investigate these events by combining structural approaches with
biochemical, biophysical and immunological analyses. These studies will
enable us to better understand the regulation of immune system and will aid
in development of structure-assisted therapeutic applications in infectious
    diseases and cancer.

The successful candidates are expected to work independently. Applicants
with backgrounds in biochemistry, structural biology and computer science
are welcome to apply. For those who have limited cryo-EM experience,
excellent training will be provided in Zhang lab and the Pacific Northwest
Center for Cryo-EM (PNCC) at OHSU.

To apply, please send CV and contact information for three letters of
reference to: zhangliman2017@gmail.com. Please write “Postdoctoral
application” in the subject header. Applicants must have a Ph.D., or M.D.,
or equivalent, and less than 5 years of postdoctoral experience.

Visiting Scholars/Students interested in Structural biology are also
    encouraged to contact.

Positions will remain open until filled.

As a note, Oregon Health & Science University is ranked one of the best
medical schools in the US (#28 in Research, #6 in Primary Care). Portland is
also a great city to live in the West Coast of the United States - you’ll
